Who do you photograph?

Everyone! Newborns, babies, toddlers, couples, grandparents, the entire family, moody teenagers, pets, your neighbor if you really want them in the photo.

What am I paying for?

A few different things! There’s the photo shoot itself, but actually, most of the work for me comes afterwards as I process and edit all of your photos. You’ll get an average of 50-75 photos per hour and instead of making you choose the 10 you want to print, I will give you a flash-drive with all of them edited because in our digital age, you should be able to keep the photos and do with them what you want. Should I dress up?

I want you to be as comfortable as possible because it will show in your photos. You’re welcome to change clothes during the shoot, especially if we move from home to another location like the park. Keep in mind natural light, natural moments, and natural expressions create the best photos.

I feel awkward in front of the camera, what should I do?

Make your best awkward face! Everyone has different comfort levels with being the center of attention or even sharing the spotlight and I don’t expect people to perform. Let’s chat for a minute or two. How did you meet? Why don’t you give me a tour of your place. I’ll take some test shots for the best lighting. Show me your favorite places in the house. What would you normally be doing if I weren’t there? How about story time? What are you making for lunch? Is it almost bath time? Does the laundry need to be folded? I’d love to see your garden! Do you have roof access? Pretend I’m not here.

Can I wear my pajamas?

Yes! Especially if they have feet.

How do I look?

Great!

How much time do we have?

In most cases, plenty! Relax. I’ll stay until I get the shots or you awkwardly ask me to leave…Unless you request the NYC Rush-hour package, which is designed specifically for speed. From experience this works best for headshots, adolescent and teen portraits, straight up portraits and maybe a fast family shoot if you totally have your sh*t together.

Do you make prints?

I work with a third party printer that offers a wide range of options and high quality prints! Because I give clients all of the high res photos it is your choice whether you want to order prints through me or on your own. I do create custom photo books that range from small and simple to deluxe storybooks that can feature your children and family as characters. I use a full format camera so larger prints come out just as well as wallets. 

When can I get my photos?

I am fast! For longer shoots I will have them back to you within 2 weeks but it’s often even faster depending on how many shoots I do in a given week.

Will I be famous?

Yes! You will most likely find yourself and your posse on my website! Congrats and send it to everyone you know!
